(This poem was written for my former supervisor who will remain nameless. I guess you could figure out that her initials are B.A!)

Happy Bosses Day!

We were sittin' around talkin' just the other day

And you know we were discussin' Big, Bad, B.A.

I heard words like "sweet" and "she knows how you feel."

Then I heard somebody say, "But she is tough as steel!"

This made me wonder, in the back of my mind,

Can she be all these things at the very same time?

I've seen her stand in the face of opposition,

Then give one of us a hug to improve our disposition.

We push her to the limit with days off and our vacation,

I wonder why it doesn't show - the pain and the frustration.

Her family she adores, I can say with no doubt.

"Look at my grandkids," as she pulls the snapshots out.

The church she attends is very dear to her heart.

A good witness and a servant, she loves to just take part.

I guess it's possible that all those qualities are contained

In a little less than a five foot frame.

I wrote this little poem to say "thanks" from all of us,

You've been our sister, our mother - one that we could trust.

It's bosses day that we're here to celebrate,

So sit back and relax, on you we will wait.

From me, Dee, Harriet, Teresa, Sheila, Kathy, and Peg,

Have a Happy Bosses Day, and please don't make us beg!
