I wrote this little poem for a friend who wanted to put something in our local newspaper to surprise her husband for his birthday. By trade, he is an EMT, but he is also a musician and a fisherman. (His name is not really John Doe! I just didn't want him to be mad at me for using his real name!)
Happy Birthday, Dad!
He's a man of many talents - A jack of all trades, you bet!
He's a master of search and rescue, A man you won't ever forget.
He can write a song and sing it, Reel in that large mouth bass-
John Doe, as you turn fifty, "We think you've still got class!"
As a husband and a dad, You're truly heads above the rest.
As we celebrate your birthday, We agree - You are the best!
