To Mom and Big Ern
I've a story to tell, I remember it well - Even though it was ten years ago. 1990 was the year - Mom said, "Kids, don't fear, - It seems I have found me a beau! "A man?!" we exclaimed, as we begged for his name - We pleaded to the best of all Mothers, Was he a cute honey? Did he have lots of money? - "No," she giggled, "Its Ernie Southers!" They courted awhile -- Big Ern, he had style! --It seemed like she'd found a real "keeper." This couple's true love was blessed from above, Off Mom's feet - Ern certainly did sweep her! In Whitman they married, his name she now carried - Then she moved out to Madisonville. Of course we had doubt, she had never been out - Of our grand West Virginia Hills. She amazed us all, She was having a ball - Making memories and friends ever new. Our concerns were unfounded, Her roots now were grounded - In the soil of Kentucky, so true. Their lonliness was gone, this love - it was so strong, - and continues to be so today. So Happy Year Number 10, A decade its been - We love you both more than words could say. Love - Sue, Chuck, and Cheryl (and all the grandkids and great grandkids!) Copyright 2000, Taylor Made Ministry |
